John Whaley

United States Pioneer

John Whaley is the National Pioneer for The Rooftop US. John trusted Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was 10 years old and was called to the ministry at the age of 13. For the past 21 years, he served as a pastor in churches in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and North Carolina. Prior to that, John served seven years as a National Seminar Leader and Missionary to the Cults with Watchman Fellowship, a Christian research and apologetics ministry located in Arlington, Texas. John is passionate about teaching the Word of God and engaging the lost with the Gospel. Over the years, God has given John opportunities to preach throughout the United States and in Romania, France, Poland, Austria, and South Africa. For five years, John served every Fall in South Africa with an Alabama based missions team that was instrumental in planting a church in the township of Bohlokong.John met Dennis Pethers, the founder of The Rooftop , at a Pastor’s Rooftop Encounter event in Hickory, North Carolina in 2011. They soon became close friends and in 2014 with the establishment of The Rooftop International, Dennis asked John to become the National Pioneer for The Rooftop US.

John has a heart for the local church. He has a strong desire to see the church experience a fresh awakening to God’s heart for those who are lost. As the National Pioneer for The Rooftop US, John looks forward to partnering with churches in developing The Rooftop strategy; leading churches to have a fresh encounter with God’s heart for the lost, engage the lost with the Gospel, and expand the Kingdom of God through relationship-based disciple making.John is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He and his wife, Susan, live in Hickory, North Carolina. They have two children and one grandchild.
