What – Our Ministry

What Are We All About?

In the city of Joppa, around 33 AD Peter stood on a Rooftop and had an Encounter with God that revolutionised his thinking and led to a global movement of disciple-making ‘outside the walls’.

In the 21st Century, The Rooftop movement is focused on inspiring the global church to encounter God, realign with His heart, rediscover what it means to be a disciple making movement, and be equipped to make disciples who make disciples outside the walls of the church.

“The Church is not the only movement seeking to impact the people of the world with a message.  Multiple movements are making unprecedented progress while the church, in many places, is in rapid decline.  It is time to stop waiting for the people to come to us!

It is time to realign with the mission of Jesus, unite together, and equip every Christ-follower to go!  A Church united behind the mission of Christ and mobilized to make disciples would be an unstoppable force – now is the time!”

Our Process

Seeking to make 1,000,000 disciples in 100 countries across the world

The Rooftop is a movement and, at its heart is a process that we believe will inspire and equip the church to join Jesus in His mission by making disciples who make disciples. The Rooftop process consists of three steps that flow into each other:

Step No. 1 — A movement of God must begin with us seeking God’s heart, not planning something and asking Him to bless it!  The Rooftop Process begins with ‘Prayerparation’ – seeking to discover what God is already doing and then be willing to join Him.

Step No. 2 — When Peter stood on The Rooftop, as recorded In Acts chapter 10, he experienced a ‘Moment of Encounter’ that changed everything.  No longer would he see those outside as the ones to avoid!

His focus changed and from that moment, He, and soon after, the early church, began to see that their focus should be on the ‘outside’ where Jesus in on mission among the people.

The ‘Moment of Encounter’ is a critical step in The Rooftop Process. In a Rooftop Encounter those who gather look across the city and seek to see it from God’s perspective, to see what He sees and then  pray and ask God to fill them with His passion for those who are beyond the walls of the church.

A Paradigm Shift!

Step No. 3 — Following his ‘paradigm-shifting’ encounter with God Peter went beyond the walls of all that he had ever known and began what became a global disciple-making movement.

This happened as Peter ENGAGED with people outside the walls and EXPANDED The Kingdom of God by making disciples who made disciples. The Movement step of The Rooftop Process focusses on:

  • Engage – equipping Christ-followers to bring the Kingdom of God near to the people they are among.
  • Expand – equipping Christ followers to be disciples who make disciples who make disciples.

The expansion of The Rooftop across the world is happening as God is raising up people with a passion to see the church Joining Jesus in His Mission.

These people are connecting with The Rooftop and sharing the vision / equipping / appointing leaders among those within their sphere of influence. We refer to these ‘people with a passion’ as PioneersCoordinators and Ambassadors.
