Richard Tumwesigye is a husband, father, brother and son; born and raised in Uganda, East Africa. He is a pastor, founder and president of Divine Encounter International Ministries Ltd, a registered company limited by guarantee with Freedom Centre Cathedral in Mbuya-Kinawataka, a suburb located in the Nakawa Division of Kampala-Uganda.
Friendly, outgoing, zealous and ambitious, Richard is a man with a big heart for people. His passion and call is to preach the Word of God to the lost; spreading the love of Jesus through evangelism and discipleship. Richard studied at Booma High School in Western Uganda; he served in various roles including being a religious prefect and Chairperson Scripture Union. He went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies at Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
Richard has over 10 years’ experience in pastoral ministry. Some of the volunteer and professional roles he has taken up in the past among others include: Associate Pastor at Place of Meeting Christian Centre, Mbarara – Western Uganda; Youth Pastor and Church Coordinator at Reach the World for Christ Ministries; Outreach Coordinator at Mbarara University Christian Union; Program Director at Community Development Concerns Initiative, Bugiri – Eastern Uganda; Youth Pastor at Believers Destiny Church, Kyebando – Kampala, Uganda; Coordinator for School Outreach at Destiny Achievers International Church, Kampala, Uganda.
Richard also has various certificates of training in various fields like Community Development, Grants and Proposal Writing, Monitoring and Evaluation, Discipleship and Bible theology. He still takes time to speak at gospel crusades, school outreaches, conferences, conventions and churches around the country.
Apart from being pastor at Freedom Centre Cathedral, Richard also currently serves as the General Secretary of Mbuya Pastors’ Fellowship under National Fellowship of Born again Pentecostal Churches, Nakawa region. He is more than thrilled to now be a part of the Rooftop ministry as Pioneer for Uganda. He, together with his wife, Immy and daughter, Divine currently live in Kinawataka in Kampala, Uganda.
